LegalTech New York, Booth #2611 – January 29, 2007 – NextPage today announced that Cydni Tetro, Vice President of Product and Corporate Marketing, will speak on information risk management tomorrow at LegalTech, the industry’s largest and most important legal technology event. NextPage will also be conducting daily surveys during the conference focusing on key information risk management issues.
Tetro’s session, which is part of the conference’s Emerging Technologies track, will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 30 from 4:00 – 4:45 p.m. ET, and will include details on research from IDG that indicates document retention policies are failing at the desktop. Tetro will also demonstrate the NextPage Document Retention application, the company’s unique approach to solving the problem of managing documents in the highly ad-hoc, decentralized environment of the desktop.
The technology behind NextPage Document Retention helps to reduce the risk of documents on the desktop by tracking versions across e-mail, hard drives, removable media and servers without forcing employees to change the way they work. This allows organizations to apply retention policies to versions on the desktop by purging working copies and posting final versions to a central server for archival and lifecycle management.
“We are seeing an increasing number of companies turn to their legal counsel for guidance on information risk management,” said Darren Lee, President and CEO of NextPage. “LegalTech is therefore an ideal venue for NextPage to help stimulate discussion around the alarming failure of document retention policy at the desktop. This failure presents an unacceptable level of risk and legal counsel is playing a larger role in guiding clients to implement not only better policy, but better technology to help manage this risk.”
In addition to conducting an Emerging Technologies session, NextPage will administer a brief survey to show attendees on key information risk management issues. The final results will be available from www.nextpage.com.
